The Beeton & District Agricultural Society sponsors the following clubs:

 

SHEEP

  • A certificate of liability must be presented when requested.
  • All trucks must enter by way of Centre Street to Prospect Street to Second Street and north to east park gate.
  • All animals must remain on grounds until 5 p.m. or prize money will not be paid.

Rules:

  1. Market lamb, must be ewe lamb or wether lamb
  2. Straw for bedding will be supplied by the Society
  3. Prize money will be paid on classes listed below. Breeds may have extra classes that are shown for ribbons only.

Class 1: 4-H Confirmation

Section A: Ewe lamb
Section B: Market lamb (ewe or wether)

Class 2: 4-H Showmanship

Section A: Novice 9 Section B: Junior 10-12
Section C: Intermediate 13-15 Section D: Senior 16-21

4-H Inter Club Open Beef Show

SPECIALS

A: There will be a special Class of Dairy Heifer (all breeds) born March 1, 2023 or later. Shown by boys and girls born in 2015 or later. All entries will receive a ribbon and a prize donated by CIBC, Bradford.

B: Ernie Severn Memorial Trophy (perpetual): This trophy is awarded to the Champion Livestock Showperson with the top two 4-H’ers from their respective 4-H shows from the Beeton Clubs, competing to see who is the overall champion

C: Earl Woodrow Trophy: This trophy is awarded to the Champion Dairy Showperson from the Bradford/Beeton area.

RULES:

CFIA TAGS: Please be aware that all livestock must arrive with CFIA tags, they are to be tagged before they leave the farm. Should they arrive without tags, and the inspectors discover this, you are putting YOURSELF at risk of a $1300.00 fine, as well as $1300 for the trucker and another $1300 fine for the B.A.S. The B.A.S. is NOT a tagging station for livestock. All untagged livestock will not be permitted to show and will be sent home.

  1. Livestock must be on the grounds by 9:30 a.m. On Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023, and may leave the show at the conclusion of the Grand Champion Livestock Showman Class.
  2. All animals exhibit with the exception of the Grand Champion Livestock Showman Class must be the 4-H project of the exhibitor.
  3. Dairy Animal Age Groups:
    Junior Yearling: March 1/19 – May 31/22
    Summer Yearling: June 1/19 – August 31/22
    Senior Heifer: September 1/19 – November 30/22
    Intermediate Heifer: December 1/18 – February 28/22
    Junior Heifer: March 1/21 and younger</li

Intermediate Showmanship: 13-15 years old as of January 1, 2023
Senior Showmanship: 16-21 years old as of January 1, 2023

Other Rules:

  1. The 4-H leader(s) and livestock director reserve the right to change the classes depending on the number of entries.
  2. The Beeton & District Agricultural Society does not accept any responsibility for any injury to any livestock when at the show.
  3. Coloured Breed Dairy Calves will be shown with the Holsteins.

 

4-H INTER-CLUB EXHIBITS

Indoor display – non-competitive
All worthy entries receive $20

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR 4-H INTER CLUB EXHIBITS

  1. Open to all Simcoe County 4-H Clubs completing a project in the previous 12 months. One exhibit is eligible per club.
  2. Each exhibit must include a backdrop.
  3. Each exhibit will be allowed 4 feet of table space.
  4. At least 3 exhibits must be placed in order to form a class.
  5. Exhibits are expected to be placed by club members. They must be placed between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. On Thursday, Sept.14, 2023, and between 8:00 a.m. And 11:30 a.m. On Friday, Sept. 15, 2023. No late entries will be accepted. Exhibits must be removed at 5:00 p.m. On Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023. After this time the Beeton & District Agricultural Society will not be responsible for exhibits.
  6. Space available will be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The following score card is used when judging exhibits:

  • General Appearance: 20 points
  • Message: 25 points
  • Power to attract and hold attention: 25 points
  • Unity in presenting message: 15 points
  • Quality of materials: 15 points
