The Beeton & District Agricultural Society sponsors the following clubs:

Rules

  1. The general rules and regulations of the Beeton & District Agricultural Society shall apply to the Beeton Junior Fair except if otherwise stated.
  2. Young people age 9-21 years of age (as of January 1, 2022) from Simcoe and adjoining counties may compete in the classes of Beeton Junior Fair, if all the eligibility criteria are met.
  3. The exhibitor in accordance with the 4-H philosophy must do all work and preparation of all exhibitors for the Junior Fair. An affidavit to this effect may be asked for by those in charge.
  4. Awards will be made only on worthy entries.

Boys and Girls Special:

There will be a special Class of Dairy Heifer (all breeds) born March 1, 2022 or later. Shown by boys and girls born in 2013 or later. All entries will receive a ribbon and
a prize donation.

B Ernie Severn Memorial Trophy (perpetual): This trophy is awarded to the Champion Livestock Showperson with the top two 4-H’ers from their respective 4-H shows from the Beeton Clubs, competing to see who is the overall Champion.

Earl Woodrow Trophy: This trophy is awarded to the Champion Dairy Showperson from the Bradford/Beeton area.

Show Rules
CFIA TAGS
Please be aware that all livestock must arrive with CFIA tags, they are to be tagged before they leave the farm.  should they arrive without tags, and the Inspectors discover this, you are putting YOURSELF at risk of a $1300.00 fine, as well as $1300.00 for the trucker and another
$1300.00 fine for the B.A.S. The B.A.S. is NOT a tagging station for livestock. All untagged livestock will not be permitted to show and will be sent home.
1     Livestock must be on the grounds by 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2019 and may leave the show at the conclusion of the Grand Champion Livestock Showman Class.
2     All animals exhibited with the exception of the Grand Champion Livestock Showman Class must be the 4-H project of the exhibitor.
3  The 4-H leader(s) and livestock Director reserve the right to change the classes depending on the number of entries.
4     The Beeton & District Agricultural Society does not accept any responsibility for any injury to any livestock when at the show.
8     Coloured Breed Dairy Calves will be shown with the Holsteins.

 4-H INTER-CLUB EXHIBITS

(INDOOR DISPLAY- NON COMPETITIVE) ALL WORTHY ENTRIES RECEIVE $20.00.

Eligibility Criteria for 4-H inter club exhibits

  1. Open to all Simcoe County 4-H Clubs completing a project in the previous 12 months. One exhibit is eligible per club.
  2. Each exhibit will be allowed 4 feet of table space.
  3. At least 3 exhibits must be placed in order to form a class.
  4. Exhibits are expected to be placed by club members. They must be placed between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2022 and between 8:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 13, 2022. No late entries will be accepted. Exhibits must be removed at
  5. 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2022. After this time the Beeton & District Agricultural Society will not be responsible for exhibits.
  6. Space available will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.

General Rules For All Participants

  1. There will be no exhibitor’s fee in any class, but exhibitors will pay admission at the gates.
  2. In case of bad weather, or any unforeseen circumstances, the Society only binds itself to pay as much pro rata of prize money as is consistent with the receipts.
  3. Exhibits may be placed in the Exhibit Hall on Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. or on Friday, September 16, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. No late entries will be accepted. Judging commences at 12:30 p.m. All exhibits must be the work of the exhibitor.
  4. All hall exhibits must remain until 5:00 p.m. Saturday, September 16, 2022
  5. All livestock must be on the grounds and in their proper place before 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2022. They must remain on the grounds until 5:00 p.m. or prize money will be forfeited.
  6. All livestock exhibitors must present a Certificate of Liability Insurance for at least $1,000,000 coverage.
  7. All exhibits must be owned by the exhibitor. All grain, hay, seeds, vegetables, etc. must be grown by the exhibitor.
  8. No person shall be awarded more than one prize for any animal or kind of article, grains, vegetables, roots or produce, whether exhibited in the same class or not, except in cases of pens or herds and extra prizes.
  9. No person shall be entitled to exhibit the same animal for any more than one prize in any section or class except in pens, herds and extra prizes.
  10. No article or animal entered for competition shall necessarily entitle the owner to a premium unless deemed worthy of a prize by judges and so awarded.
  11. Bulls must be properly secured by ring in the nose or otherwise to prevent accidents, or they will not be allowed on the grounds.
  12. Suitable pens will be provided for sheep.
  13. No person or persons will be allowed to interfere with the judges, while in charge of their duties, by conversation or otherwise.
  14. No person will be allowed to act as a judge in any class in which he is an exhibitor.
