Rules

 

  1. ADULT: open to all age groups. Non-commercial artists only.
  2. YOUTH CLASSES defined as follows: SENIOR YOUTH: ages 14 years to 18 years of age INTERMEDIATE YOUTH: ages 10 years to 13 years of age JUNIOR YOUTH: ages 6 to 9 years of age
  3. Youth exhibitors must mark their age on the FRONT of the yellow entry tag where it is visible to the judge. All work submitted in this category must be tagged with a yellow tag. Blue school tag entries are not accepted in this category. Work must be done on an individual basis.
  4. All ARTWORK must be ready to hang SECURELY. Artwork does not have to be framed. The Directors will not be responsible for artwork that falls off the wall, but all care will be taken when putting up and taking down the art display.
  5. Outside frame measurements not to exceed 36” in any direction.
  6. An original work of art is a work that is not copied from another artist’s work or photographs.
  7. In case of no competition, the prize will be withheld unless the exhibit is worthy.
  8. New Exhibitor is anyone who did not show in Class 36 in 2017 or 2018. Mark the front of the tag “New Exhibitor”.
  9. All other rules of Homecraft Division apply.

Adult Section

PRIZES FOR SECTION 1-10: 1ST: $5.00. 2ND: $4.00. 3RD: $3.00.

  1. Pencil drawing, any subject, original or non-original if picture is included
  2. Pen and ink, ball-point, felt tip or technical pen, any subject, original or non-original if picture is included
  3. Pastel, charcoal, or conte drawing, any subject, original or non-original if picture is included
  4. Water-soluble, any subject, original or non-original if picture is included
  5. Oil or acrylic painting, any subject, original or non-original if picture is included
  6. Portrait, man or animal, any medium, original or non-original if picture is included
  7. Building or buildings, any medium, original or non-original
  8. Land/Seascape, any medium, original or non-original
  9. Abstract, any medium, original
  10. Mixed-media, use at least 2 mediums, any subject, original

 

Specials

  1. Paint and decoratie a pumpkin. Minimal cutting. Some props may be used. Prize: 10.00.
  2. New Exhibitor (anyone who did not show in Art Section in 2017 or 2018) with most points. Prize: $25.00.
  3. Exhibitor with most points. Section 1 – 10. Prize: donated by Rebecca Medcof, Beeton.

 

Senior Youth Section

PRIZES FOR SECTIONS 14-17: 1ST: $3.00. 2ND: $2.50. 3RD: $2.00

  1. Abstract: may include hand-rendered elements and computer-generate elements. Must be original
  2. Painting: water-soluble, acrylic or oil: any subject, original or non- original if picture is included
  3. Mixed-media, must use at least 2 mediums, any subject, must be original
  4. Drawing: pencil, pen, charcoal, pastel or conte, any subject, original or non-original if picture is included

 

Specials

  1. Paint and decoratie a pumpkin. Minimal cutting. Some props may be used. Prize: 10.00. Prize: $25.00.
  2. Exhibitor with most points, Section 13-17. Prize: $25.00.

 

Intermediate Youth Section

PRIZES FOR SECTIONS 19-22: 1ST: $3.00. 2ND: $2.50.3RD: $2.00

  1. Mixed media, must include at least 2 mediums (may include computer-generated work for 1 of the mediums), any subject, must be original, must be hangable
  2. Drawing: pencils, pen, felt tip; any subject, original or non-original if picture is included
  3. Painting – original or non-original if picture is included

 

Specials

Junior Youth Section

  1. Drawing, pencil, coloured pencils, felt pens or crayons, any subject
  2. Mixed media, must use at least 2 materials, must be original and hangable
  3. Painting, any subject, must be original
