2025 JUNIOR & YOUTH

Please read the rules carefully and adhere to, or be disqualified by the judge. Only yellow entry tags will be accepted for this class.

 

RULES

  1. Open to exhibitors under 16 years of age. Juniors are 7 years of age and under. Youth are 8 years of age and older. Exhibitor form must be submitted. Please use yellow entry tag and please put age on entry tag.
  2. All needlework must include a swatch of fabric, yarn or floss used in the entry.
  3. New exhibitor or anyone who did not show in “Junior Class” in 2023 or 2024, mark “New Exhibitor” on the front of entry tag.
  4. All other rules of Homecraft Division apply.

SECTION: BAKING

Junior/Youth baking is now listed under Culinary Class 27

SECTION: ARTS & CRAFTS

Prizes for section 1-6: 1ST: $5 2ND: $4 3RD: $3

  1. Mounted maple leaf
  2. Make your own bedroom door decoration
  3. Creature made from vegetables
  4. Hand quilted item
  5. Bracelet
  6. Decorated wooden spoon

YOUTH – 8 YEARS OLD AND OLDER

  1. Craft from a kit
  2. Building kit
  3. Paper maché craft
  4. Design a welcome page for Fair website (on paper)
  5. Decorated article of clothing
  6. Painted rock

SECTION: FLOWERS

Prizes for section 13-21: 1ST: $4 2ND: $3 3RD: $2 Note: Tie all tags on flowers exhibited. Incorrect number of blooms in all sections will be disqualified. Buds showing colour are considered as a bloom.

  1. Asters – 5 blooms
  2. Marigolds – 5 small blooms
  3. Petunias – 5 blooms, single
  4. Brown-eyed Susans, 5 blooms
  5. Best sunflower head, small – no larger than 8” diameter including petals
  6. Flower arrangement, in a mug using real flowers
  7. Zinnas – 5 blooms
  8. Mums – 5 blooms
  9. Best sunflower head, larger than 8” diameter including petals

SECTION: VEGETABLES

Prizes for section 22-31: 1ST: $4 2ND: $3 3RD: $2

  1. Largest pumpkin
  2. Best 5 beets
  3. Best 5 carrots
  4. Best 5 potatoes
  5. Best 5 Beefsteak tomatoes
  6. Best 5 medium size tomatoes
  7. Best small size tomatoes, (such as Tiny Tim)
  8. 2 cucumbers, any variety
  9. Squash, one, any variety
  10. Zucchini, under 10”

SPECIALS

  1. Exhibitor with most points in Class 32. Prize: $10, donated by the Beeton & District Agricultural Society
  2. New exhibitor (anyone who did not show in this class in 2023 or 2024) with most points. Prize: $10, donated by the Beeton & District Agricultural Society
