Rules

  1. ADULT open to all age groups. Non-commercial artists only.
  2. YOUTH CLASSES defined as follows:
    • Senior Youth: ages 14–18
    • Intermediate Youth: ages 10–13
    • Junior Youth: ages 6–9
  3. All work submitted in the youth categories must be tagged with a yellow tag. Blue school tag entries are not accepted in this category. Work must be done on an individual basis.
  4. ALL ARTWORK must be ready to hang SECURELY. Artwork does not have to be framed.
  5. Outside frame measurements not to exceed 36″ in any direction.
  6. An original work of art is a work that is not copied from another artist’s work or photographs and does not contain any AI generated elements.
  7. In case of no competition, the prize will be withheld unless the exhibit is worthy.
  8. New exhibitor or anyone who did not show in Class 36 in 2024 or 2025. Please mark tag “NEW EXHIBITOR” on the front.
  9. All other rules of Homecraft Division apply.

Section: Adult Art

Prizes for section 1–10: 1st: $6 | 2nd: $5 | 3rd: $4

  1. Drawing (pencil, pen and ink etc.) any subject
  2. Pastel, charcoal or conté, any subject
  3. Water-soluble (watercolour, gouache, inks etc.)
  4. Oil or acrylic painting, any subject
  5. Portrait, person or animal, any medium
  6. Building or buildings, any medium
  7. Land/Seascape, any medium
  8. Small piece (max. 6″x6″) any medium or subject
  9. Abstract, must use at least 2 mediums, original
  10. Anything goes! Any subject and any materials. Must be hangable and must be original.
  11. Special: Depict an autumn scene, using any medium, must be original. Prize: $25.
  12. Special: Judges Choice. Prize: $25.
  13. Special: Exhibitor with most points in Class 36, section 1–10. Prize donated by Rebecca Medcof.

Section: Senior Youth Art (ages 14–18)

Prizes for section 14–17: 1st: $4 | 2nd: $3.50 | 3rd: $3

  1. Drawing (pencil, pen and ink etc.) any subject
  2. Painting. Your choice of watercolour, oil, acrylic or gouache. Any subject.
  3. Small piece (max. 6″x6″) any medium or subject
  4. Anything goes! Any subject and any materials. Must be hangable and must be original.
  5. Special: New Exhibitor (anyone who did not show in Class 36 in 2024 or 2025) with most points in section 14–17. Prize: $25.
  6. Special: Senior Youth Exhibitor with most points in Class 36, section 14–17. Prize donated by Sean-William Dawson.

Section: Intermediate Youth Art (ages 10–13)

Prizes for section 20–22: 1st: $4 | 2nd: $3.50 | 3rd: $3

  1. Drawing, pencil, coloured pencils, pen and ink, ball-point, felt tip or technical pen, any subject, original or non-original.
  2. Painting. Your choice of watercolour, oil, acrylic or gouache. Any subject, original or non-original.
  3. Anything goes! Any subject and any materials. Must be hangable and must be original.
  4. Special: New Exhibitor (anyone who did not show in Class 36 in 2024 or 2025) with most points in section 20–22. Prize: $25.
  5. Special: Senior Youth Exhibitor with most points in Class 36, section 20–22. Prize donated by Sean-William Dawson.

Section: Junior Youth Art (ages 6–9)

Prizes for section 25–27: 1st: $4 | 2nd: $3.50 | 3rd: $3

  1. Drawing, pencil, coloured pencils, ball-point, felt pens or crayons, any subject.
  2. Painting. Any subject.
  3. Draw or paint a scene that depicts “170 Years of Harvest Roots”, any materials. Must be hangable and must be original.
  4. Special: Junior Youth Exhibitor with most points in Class 36, section 25–27. Prize donated by Rebecca Medcof.
