Rules

  1. All flowers in section 1–28 must be grown by exhibitor.
  2. Arrangements, not necessary to be grown by exhibitor.
  3. All plants must be at least 3 months old, one plant per pot unless otherwise specified.
  4. Exhibitors to supply own container.
  5. Count blooms carefully, no more, no less. Buds showing colour count as blooms.
  6. Let’s see plants larger than the pots.
  7. Be a neat and tidy exhibitor.
  8. Cut flowers must be shown with own foliage.
  9. Height of arrangement should be at least 1½ times the size of the container.
  10. No artificial flowers, artificial plants, nor luster spray to be used.
  11. Tag to be placed at front of arrangement.
  12. New exhibitor or anyone who did not show in 2024 or 2025, mark tag “NEW EXHIBITOR” on the front.
  13. All other rules of Homecraft Division apply.

  15. Container not to exceed 12″ top (does not apply to arrangements).

Section: Cut Flowers

Prizes for section 1–28: 1st: $4 | 2nd: $3.50 | 3rd: $3

  1. Asters – 5 stems
  2. Marigolds – any variety, 5 stems
  3. Hosta – small, any variety, 3 leaves
  4. Hosta – largest, any variety, 1 leaf
  5. Sedum – Autumn Joy, 1 stem
  6. Dahlia – common variety, one colour or mixed colour, 3 stems
  7. Dahlia – decorative, any colour, 1 stem
  8. Dahlia – largest, 1 stem
  9. Hydrangea – any variety, 1 stem
  10. Salvia – 3 stems, any colour
  11. Rudbeckia – 3 stems
  12. Echinacea – any variety, 3 stems
  13. Rose – 1 spray
  14. Single Rose – floating in maximum 6″ bowl
  15. Rose – most fragrant
  16. Snapdragon – tall, 3 stems
  17. Amaranthus – 1 stem
  18. Zinnia – 5 stems, mixed colour
  19. Any other cut flower not listed above – 1 stem

Section: Plants

  1. Sansevieria (Snake Plant) – max 10″ diameter pot
  2. Strawflower – any colour – max 10″ diameter pot
  3. Coleus – max 10″ diameter pot
  4. African Violet – in container
  5. Cactus or Succulent – max 6″ diameter pot
  6. Any foliage houseplant – max 6″ diameter pot
  7. Potted Herb garden – 4 varieties
  8. Orchid – max 6″ in diameter pot
  9. Begonia – maximum 10″ in diameter pot

Section: Arrangements

Prizes for section 29–35: 1st: $4 | 2nd: $3.50 | 3rd: $3

  1. “Pollinators Paradise” – a bee and butterfly friendly arrangement.
  2. “Mini Magic” – a miniature design using all dry materials, not to exceed 5″ in any direction. (Prize: donated by the Cooper family in memory of Deborah Cooper.)
  3. “Last Blast” – a design of your choice using only flowers and foliage from your garden.
  4. “Let’s Be Thankful” – centerpiece, not to exceed 8″ high and 16″ in length.
  5. “Gone to Seed” – a design using seed pods, bark, grasses etc.
  6. “Happy New Year” – a small design in a wine glass.
  7. “Scents of the season” – best smelling arrangement.

Section: Specials – Plants & Flowers

  1. Fair Theme – “170 Years of Harvest Roots” design of your choice. Prize: 1st: $20 | 2nd: $15 | 3rd: $10. Donated by the Beeton & District Agricultural Society.
  2. “Fine Dining” arrangement for a formal dining room table, using fresh flowers. Prize: 1st: $20 | 2nd: $10 | 3rd: $5. Donated by the Beeton & District Agricultural Society.
  3. “Here Comes The Bride” – a white bouquet suitable for a wedding. Prize: 1st: $15 | 2nd: $10. Donated by the Beeton & District Agricultural Society.
  4. “Home Sweet Home” – arrangement for a new home, maximum 12″ in height and width. Prize: 1st: $20 | 2nd: $10.
  5. “Best of Class for Plants” – section 20–28. Prize: $15. Donated by the Beeton & District Agricultural Society.
  6. “Best Flower Arrangement” – section 29–35. Prize: 1st: $25 | 2nd: $15.
  7. “Best of Class for Cut Flowers” – section 1–19. Prize: $25. Donated by the Beeton & District Agricultural Society.
  8. New Exhibitor (anyone who did not show in Class 26 in 2024 or 2025). Donated by Tec-We-Gwill Women’s Institute.
  9. Exhibitor with most points in Class 26. Prize: $20. Donated by the Beeton Horticultural Society.
