This year’s Beeton Fall Fair marks a big milestone: 170 years of bringing the community together to celebrate agriculture, family, and tradition. This year’s theme, 170 Years of Harvest Roots, honours that history while packing the weekend with the fun you’ve come to expect.
Fair hours:
- Friday, September 18: 4:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
- Saturday, September 19: 9:30 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
- Sunday, September 20: 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Admission is $15 per person for the day, and covers grounds access, shows, exhibits, and unlimited rides on the Party Tyme Treats & Amusements midway. No separate tickets needed.
Live Music on the South Ball Diamond
Friday night kicks off with the Beeton Boomers (8–10 p.m.) playing rock favourites from the ’60s through the ’90s, followed by Van Hillert (10:30 p.m. – 12:30 a.m.) with a mix of rock, pop, and country. On Saturday, catch Good Company, featuring Brian and Susie Good, with special guest Lou Moore, from noon to 2 p.m.
New This Year: Buck’s Magic
Comedy magician Buck Macleod strolls the fairgrounds Saturday (11 a.m.–noon and 1–2 p.m.) with close-up card and coin tricks for small groups. There’s no stage to find, just follow the laughter.
For the Kids
Character visits happen Saturday from 11 a.m.–noon and 1–2 p.m., including a familiar red furry friend and a few surprise guests whose identities are being kept under wraps until fair day.
Test Your Strength: The Human Truck Pull
New this year on Sunday: teams of five pull a full-sized farm truck 100 feet for bragging rights. Grab four friends, pick a team name, and register in advance with Heather Brethet at heather_brethet@hotmail.com, or ask about joining at the fair.
Cow Patty Bingo
Back by popular demand Saturday at 2 p.m. Pick your numbered square and see if you’re standing under the cow’s, ahem, lucky spot. Free to enter, registration starts Saturday morning in the farm animals area.
4-H Achievement Day
Local 4-H members take over the fairgrounds all weekend to show off months of hard work, from animal handling to crafts and gardening projects. Check the fair schedule for exact show times.
Garden Tractor Pull
The Ontario Truck and Tractor Pulling Association returns Saturday at 2 p.m. on the 400-foot dirt track, with everything from lawn tractors to modified diesels competing to pull the heaviest sled the farthest.
Homecraft Competitions
Bakers, gardeners, photographers, and crafters of all ages and skill levels are invited to enter. There’s no exhibitor fee, and ribbons and prize money are up for grabs. Drop off entries Thursday (6–9 p.m.) or Friday (8:30–11:30 a.m.). Team K-9 Dog Shows
Watch agility and obedience demos Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., included with regular admission.
Traditional Spinning Demonstration
Members of the Nottawasaga Handweavers and Spinners Guild demonstrate how fibre becomes yarn, Saturday from 9 a.m.–noon inside the arena, a nice tie-in to this year’s “Harvest Roots” theme.
Lions Club Bingo
Saturday from 4–9:30 p.m. upstairs in the arena, hosted by the Tottenham & District Lions Club. Ten games, cash prizes up to $500, and game books starting at $2. Players must be 18+.
School Section
Students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 (including homeschoolers) can enter art, writing, and craft categories tied to the fair’s 170th anniversary. Blue School Tags are required and available at local schools, the Fair Office, and New Tecumseth Public Library branches. Drop off entries Thursday (7–9 p.m.) or Friday (8–11:30 a.m.). Classic Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show
Sunday’s fairgrounds turn into a showcase of horsepower and history, with classic cars, trucks, antique tractors, and motorcycles on display. Registration runs from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with the show itself running from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Demolition Derby
Closing out the weekend, the Demolition Derby takes over the North Fairgrounds Ring on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., a fan favourite for anyone who likes their entertainment loud, chaotic, and full of dented metal.
