Beeton Agricultural Society’s Annual Meeting: New Beginnings and Heartfelt Gratitude
Introduction:
After a three-year hiatus, the Beeton Agricultural Society could finally hold our much-awaited annual meeting in person. We gathered at the Kate Aitken Hall, reuniting with our cherished members and celebrating new beginnings.
Amazing Meal:
We kicked off the event with a fantastic meal courtesy of Lori Brethet and her talented team. Their culinary skills were on full display, delighting everyone in attendance with a delectable dining experience. We are deeply grateful for their hard work and dedication in preparing such a splendid feast for all to enjoy.
Honouring the Past:
Before moving forward, we must recognize those who have helped us navigate the challenges of the COVID era. First, our sincerest gratitude goes to Glen Brethet, President of the Beeton Agricultural Society, for four years, providing steady guidance and leadership during uncertain times.
A Warm Welcome to Our New Leadership:
As we look toward the future, we are excited to welcome and congratulate our new leadership team:
- Roger Findlay as President
- John Rutten as Vice President
- Dan LaChapelle as 2nd Vice President
- Michelle Woodward as Homecraft Director
We are confident their passion and expertise will drive the Beeton Agricultural Society towards even greater heights.
Introducing New Directors:
Our annual meeting also served as an opportunity to welcome three new directors to our board:
- Paul Rizza
- Doug Kowalinski
- Steve Tymkow
These gentlemen will join our existing board members, Jim Alexiou, Heather Brethet, Tom Middlebrook, RJ Mayberry, Mike Deakin, Bob Lisk, and Steve Stewart, to form our 2023 Board of Directors.
A Fond Farewell:
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Mark Milligan and Elsie Newbigging for their unwavering dedication and passion during their tenure on the board of directors. Beeton Fair will always remember their contributions, and we wish them the best in their future endeavours.
Save the Date – Beeton Fair 2023:
Mark your calendars! The Beeton Fair is set to return from September 15 to 17, 2023, triumphantly. We can’t wait to see you there for a weekend filled with excitement, fun, and community spirit!
In conclusion, the Beeton Agricultural Society’s annual meeting signalled a fresh start and renewed optimism. We are incredibly thankful for the contributions of our outgoing leaders and eagerly anticipate the exciting possibilities ahead under the guidance of our new leadership team and board of directors.
