Rules
1. All exhibits must be handmade and the work of Exhibitor.
2. All needlework must include a swatch of fabric, yarn or floss used in the entry.
3. All articles may be shown only twice before being disqualified.
4. Judge’s decision is final.
5. Judges will be instructed by the Directors to disqualify all soiled, defaced or old work.
6. In case of no competition, the prize will be withheld unless the exhibit is worthy.
7. New Exhibitor or anyone who did not show in Class XXIX in 2006 or 2007 mark “New Exhibitor” on the front of entry tag.
8. All other rules or Homecraft Division will apply.

SPECIALS
F “Judith Smith Memorial Grand Champion Quilt” - Best quilt chosen from sections 36-39. Quilt will be entered in District 5 of Ontario Association of Agriculture Societies (OAAS) quilt competition later this fall. Prize: Grand Champion Rosette, plus $50.00 donated by PAST QUILTING FRIENDS in memory of Judy Smith and her quilting expertise. (See NOTE regarding OAAS Grand Quilt Competition).
G Reserve Champion Quilt from sections 33-45. Prize: Reserve Champion Rosette, plus $15.00 gift certificate donated by Bee Sew Busy, Beeton.

Grand Champion Quilt Competition
Rules
A. Entries must be solely made and hand quilted by a group or individual and exhibited and judged at a local Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies’ (O.A.A.S.) Fair to be eligible for this competition.
B. Entry quilts MUST be a minimum of 72” x 90” (smaller quilts will not be eligible to proceed to the next levels of competition).
C. Judging will occur at local fairs, and if successful, at the district level. A provincial grand champion quilt will be selected at the annual convention of OAAS.
D. Upon making an entry into the OAAS quilt Competition, the Exhibitor agrees to participate in any promotional activities related to the competition.
E Winner’s name to be displayed at the Fair
on sign provided by OAAS.
F The winning OAAS champion quilt will not be eligible to compete in any future district or OAAS convention competition.
G. OAAS will award the prize money to Exhibitors
of winning quilts at the District competition. Prizes: 1st - $25; 2nd - $15; 3rd - $10.
H. The entry judged “BEST OF SHOW” at the OAAS Convention will be declared the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies Championship Quilt. A $500 grand prize will be awarded and the Exhibitor will retain ownership of their quilt.
A certificate and ribbon will also be awarded.

Annual Machine Championship Quilt
Eligibility, Rules and Regulations
A. Entries must be solely made and machine quilted (by individual) and exhibited and judged at a local Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies’ (O.A.A.S.) Fair to be eligible for this competition.
B. Entry quilts MUST be a minimum of 72” x 90” (smaller quilts will not be eligible to proceed to the next levels of competition).
C. Judging will occur at local fairs, and district levels. A provincial grand champion machine quilt will be selected at the annual convention of OAAS.
D. Upon making an entry into the OAAS machine quilt Competition, the Exhibitor agrees to participate in any promotional activities related to the competition.
E The winning OAAS champion machine quilt will not be eligible to compete in any future district and/or convention OAAS competitions.
F Winner’s name to be displayed at the Fair on a sign provided by OAAS.
G. The quilt must not be quilted using a long arm machine and must be machine quilted by the exhibitor. District competition. Prizes: 1st - $25; 2nd - $15; 3rd - $10.
